The American Institute of Indian Studies’ Board of Advisors consists of distinguished business and community leaders who serve for three-year-terms to provide counsel and support for the Institute’s mission and financial development. The Board meets at least twice a year to review AIIS activities and programs and to offer guidance in resource-related and development efforts. The Board receives reports on AIIS activities and offers counsel on the operation of diverse AIIS programs.
The Board is an interface betweeen Indian scholars and academic specialists at AIIS member institutions and the larger public that AIIS serves through its educational and cultural activities. It promotes public awareness of the Institute’s work. As ambassadors at large and advisors to the AIIS on pertinent issues, the Board serves as liaison between the Institute’s officers and the individuals, corporations, and foundations that support the Institute’s mission.
