Contest Guidelines

Eligibility

  • Junior scholars who received the Ph.D. from a U.S. institution since 2002 are eligible to participate.
  • Unrevised dissertations and manuscripts already submitted for publication are not eligible.

Guidelines

  • Winners are determined by the AIIS Publications Commitee. The Committee may determine that there is no winner in a particular year.
  • Indiana University Press has the right to select a prize-winning manuscript for publication. If selected, revised and edited, winning books will be published in the Indiana University Press/AIIS Series on Contemporary Indian Studies.
  • Submission of a manuscript implies agreement to publish with Indiana University Press should the submission win a prize.
  • A prize includes both a cash award and a subvention to Indiana University Press to help meet the cost of publication.

Deadline is October 1.
