Applications for fellowships are screened and chosen by a Selection Committee comprised of experts in various fields, but all with extensive India experience.
Outcomes
AIIS fellows contribute to scholarship and understanding of India through publications, papers presented at scholarly conferences, interaction with their colleagues, enhanced teaching and service to the profession, such as in the creation of websites.
Performing and creative artists promote the arts of India in the US through performances, exhibitions and educational programs.
